Lipsticks.
Two treatments in one set, with no branding anywhere on it. Hard-edged bullets standing on colour-block steps, then the same product cut open and destroyed. A lipstick is a solid with a soft interior, and the outside tells you nothing about that. Intact and upright, it photographs as a shape. So they were sliced, smeared and broken to expose the waxy crumble, then lit soft and raking across the cut face so the relief reads without burning out the colour.
The standing frames go the other way. Heavily blurred gradient backdrops with red, blue, pink and teal bleeding across the frame, so the only hard edge in the picture belongs to the bullet. Lipstick photography usually resolves everything in the frame. Here the ground is left unresolved on purpose and the product carries all the definition, which is also what lets the cut frames and the clean frames sit in one set.
