Edith and Kiveen.
A series of Edith and Kiveen's jewellery, shot as stills for a showcase event. Flowers beside gemstones is an easy idea and usually a bad one. Put a whole fresh bloom next to a small stone and the flower wins every time. So each bloom was chosen to match the stone it sits with, cobalt to delphinium, green to peridot, pink to rose, and pressed down into the folds of silk and crepe rather than stood up beside the piece. Astrantia, chamomile and spirea go in the same way. The flower becomes part of the ground, so it supports the colour of the stone instead of competing with it.
Soft diffused daylight, worked very shallow so the blooms fall away in front and behind and only the setting stays resolved. Satin sheen and soft edged shadows instead of hard speculars, which suits gold and keeps the crepe reading as cloth.
