Fanta Fantasies.
Fanta needed four new flavours explored for a global release, with the products raised on bespoke plinths and the flavours and liquids explored alongside them, working with ForPeople London. Four flavours shot as four pictures is a range, not a campaign. They have to share a world and still be told apart at a glance. The plinths carry that. Each pack stands on a carved block of ice, shot from a low angle looking up so the product reads as monumental, against airbrushed pastel cloud skies in turquoise, violet and lilac. The sky changes with the flavour while the structure stays identical, which lets colour do the separating.
The delivery ran wider than four packs. PET bottles in the Fanta Harmony, Twist and Splash shapes, and cans in both slim and stubby, all had to stand on the same ice and hold the same light. Every bottle shape breaks a highlight differently, so the plinth and the key were set once and each pack was matched into that, which is what keeps a slim can and a Twist bottle reading as one campaign rather than as separate shoots. Heavy condensation sits on both the pack and the ice, with a small flower placed at the neck, and the range is supported by full-bleed macro fills of yellow and orange cubes suspended in soda as texture plates. It is the only drinks project in the archive with a sky behind it. The same approach runs through the rest of my commissioned soft drink photography.
