From The Silver Screen.
From The Silver Screen make jewellery out of the byproduct of film development, recycled film silver. I created a set of assets for them. The material is the whole story and the material is invisible. A silver pendant looks like a silver pendant, whatever it used to be. So the sets carry the film heritage instead. Referenced from the films, grenade pendants and a film strip ring, staged inside scratch built dollhouse scale rooms with a desk, a lamp, a framed map and textured carpet, plus a miniature crate, a cine camera and film reels. The concept is the tie between the tactility of a recycled product, film silver, and a wearable piece of jewellery.
The rooms are shot to read full size and then broken on purpose. A real hand comes into frame and the scale collapses, which is the point at which you notice how small everything is. Warm tungsten practicals light the room scenes, then a second group sits on white sweep under a hard raking key with deep polished silver speculars.
