Rolex Certified Pre-Owned, In Store.
The second half of the Rolex certified pre-owned work for Deacons Jewellery, made in their showroom rather than the studio. The same stock, photographed the way it is actually bought. A real room fights you. Cabinet lighting, daylight off the street and polished wood all land on a bracelet at once, and a watch shot in that mess reads as a snapshot. I held the light continuous and warm across skin and cuff, and controlled the specular on bracelet and bezel rather than chasing it around the case. Wardrobe was colour blocked to the showroom leather and panelling, olive suiting against green bezels, so nothing in frame competes with the watch for the brightest note.
The rest is the room doing its job. Trays pulled open, a Submariner set down on a book, a Daytona held out of the drawer, pieces worn on real wrists rather than a display form. On wrist watch photography lives or dies on whether the hand looks like it belongs to the person who owns the watch.
