Sexy Fish 10 Years.
Sexy Fish came to me direct to celebrate ten years, through the cocktails their guests had asked for most across that decade. Drinks chosen for how much people love them rather than for how they photograph arrive as an assortment. Different glasses, different colours, nothing holding them together beyond the room they were served in. The artwork created for the anniversary gave me that thread. The set design for the anniversary cocktail photography took its cues straight from it: iridescent and mirrored tiles, ribbed and velvet curtain backdrops, gels in magenta, cyan and gold pitched against the black and brass, so every serve stands inside the same graphic language the anniversary was drawn in.

Then the light does the celebrating. Hard narrow beams, prismatic rainbow refraction thrown in streaks across the frame, star-burst flare pulled off the stems, each glass raised on a small mirrored plinth so the favourites read as floating in the dark. The glimmers and the refraction happened in front of the lens, not in post, so the effects belong to the glass and the liquid and move with each serve rather than sitting on top of it. Set: Sophie Surridge. Shot in London by David Lineton.
