SIP POV.
SIP POV is a personal series about the first sip, the one where the flavours are still arriving separately before they settle into one drink. A drink photographed from the outside is a still life. Nothing about a normal three-quarter view gets you anywhere near the experience of drinking it. So I shot it on a probe lens and put the camera where the mouth would be. The viewpoints rotate and tilt until the glassware looks close to toppling, an iced glass lies on its side, a cherry serve is caught mid-pour, and the angle does the work that a garnish usually does.
The backdrops are split into pastel pairs, mint into pink, yellow into white, and I left the flare and glow bloom in rather than cleaning them out, because the softness belongs to the point of view. Pipette bitters and a black-salt-rimmed coupe with a dried rose push it toward a feature rather than a hero suite. The same first-person approach carries into my commissioned mixology photography.
